Is another quarterback coming?

Jake Garcia walked away from his USC commitment, but the Trojans appear to have a replacement in line for the class of 2021.

Meet Jaxson Dart, the appropriately named quarterback from Draper, Utah. Dart is a four-star prospect who ranks No. 103 in the 247Sports composite overall. Among pro-style quarterbacks, he is No. 9.

USC still has four-star passer Miller Moss committed and set to sign on Wednesday, but the Trojans need numbers in their quarterback room. Matt Fink could leave the program as a graduate if he chooses. That could leave the Trojans with Kedon Slovis as the lone returning scholarship quarterback next year. Adding Moss is great, but one is not enough. Thus, the pursuit of Dart.

BYU, Arizona State and others are also hot after the 6-foot-3, 210-pound quarterback who lit up the high school scene in Utah this fall.

USC’s offer for Dart went out in October, but the Trojans are now favorites to land him in the 247Sports Crystal Ball. We’ll know if the late push was enough when he announces on ESPN 2 at 9:15 a.m. PT.
