USC Just offered Ya boy Joe Mixon I’m juiced 36!

Mixon is a four-star running back out of Freedom High School in Oakley, California and now holds 36 offers overall, including offers from all but two Pac-12 schools: Oregon and Stanford.

There’s yet to be a true favorite in the Mixon sweepstakes, though the location theory puts Cal right in the thick of things, along with current ‘it’ school Notre Dame, as Andrew Kulha of B/R pointed out earlier this week.

At 6-foot-2, 210 pounds, Mixon is a potent back, as he gained 1,134 yards as a junior in 2012, totaling 13 touchdowns and finishing with a 6.63 yards per carry average. A tall, upright runner similar to USC Class of 2013 signees Ty Isaac and Justin Davis, Mixon has garnered comparisons to Adrian Peterson.

In addition to Mixon, the Trojans also offered Michiah Quick, a four-star corner, and Tashon Smallwood, a three-star defensive tackle, both of whom are out of Fresno. Smallwood finished the day by verbally committing to USC, announced late this afternoon by a mix of analysts including Greg Biggins and Gerard Martinez.

As of now USC has four commitments in the Class of 2014, leaving them with 16 available slots. Signing Day is just 345 days away, but hey, who’s counting?
