The Trojans led the entire game, and with this victory, snapped a nine-game losing streak. Garrett Jackson played a big role in the beat down of the Utes, scoring a career-high 16 points. Maurice “MoJo” Jones added 16 points of his own, while Greg Allen and freshman Byron Wesley dished out nine points each, in what served as a much-needed victory for the Trojans.

With the loss of Gio Fontan at the beginning of the season, USC just hasn’t had the same fire that they had last season, and it showed very much so in their play leading up to this game. To make matters worse, big man DeWayne Dedmon suffered a season-ending MCL tear last week, further weakening this USC team. However, the men of Troy were able to make something out of nothing, and hopefully will be utilize this morale-boosting victory to get better as the season chugs on.

USC is now 1-8 in Pac-12 play, and 6-16 overall.
