Here’s what’s on tap in this USC podcast:

  • Michael and Alicia start out the podcast chatting about NFL and fantasy football. Michael puts out a call for listeners to give Alicia’s fantasy team — the Tuxedoed Overlords — a better name.
  • The big news on Sunday was USC’s decision to demote Chuma Edoga rather than suspend him after he was ejected on the first drive against Utah State for pushing a ref. Was a suspension warranted? Is Helton being weak on punishment? Does the demotion really count as punishment?
  • The Trojans emerged from the Utah State game with relatively minor injury concerns. Helton updated the status of Ronald Jones II, Marvell Tell III, Noah Jefferson and Jamel Cook on Sunday.
  • Jumping into the 45-7 win on Saturday over Utah State, the RoT Crew try to make sense of an offensive performance which was simultaneously encouraging and worrying.
  • Having spent so much time on negatives from what was a great Saturday at the Coliseum, Michael and Alicia run down all the positives from the weekend including JuJu Smith-Schuster, Adoree’ Jackson, Cameron Smith and Leon McQuay III.
  • Listeners called in, texted in and tweeted in to rant about Sam Darnold and the Trojans handling of the quarterback situation. Is Darnold a true running quarterback? Is Clay Helton setting up a quarterback controversy? What is the best way to use both Max Browne and Darnold without causing trouble?
  • As always, the podcast ends with a game of This Or That, with listener Sean from beautiful Austin, Texas asking what’s worse, a screwed up fast food order or people talking loudly at the movies?

Stay tuned to Reign of Troy Radio, as we’ll be back to with more USC football talk next week.
