Four-star defensive end Jarez Parks named USC football in his Top 8 schools Thursday, along with Alabama, Florida and others.

Another one of the nation’s top defensive line recruits has USC football in contention for their signature.

This time Sebastian River defensive end Jarez Parks listed the Trojans in his Top 8 schools.

“Let’s Do It! Very Grateful and Thankful for this opportunity. Love you God!” Parks wrote on Twitter, along with the graphic announcing his top schools.

Along with USC, Parks named Alabama, Oklahoma, Clemson, Florida, LSU, Florida State and Auburn.

The 6-foot-5 weakside defensive end is ranked as the No. 4 player at his position per the 247 Sports composite ranking. He is the No. 11 player in the state of Florida and the No. 50 player in the country overall.

Playing outside linebacker for Sebastian River, Parks is a dangerous pass rusher off the edge.

Florida stands as the home-state favorite for Parks according to the 247 Sports Crystal Ball experts while Alabama has also landed some projections.

USC is lacking a single defensive line commit for the 2017 class though the Trojans have made the favorites lists for the likes of four-star prospects Malik Herring and former UCLA commit Hunter Echols in recent weeks.

More from Reign of Troy

Last year Clay Helton’s staff brought in linemen Connor Murphy and Liam Jimmons, but USC could still use reinforcements up front for next year.

Going into the south to grab this U.S. Army All-American Bowl commit would be quite the feat.

The Trojans Class of 2017 currently stands at nine commits.

Headlining that group is five-star running back Stephen Carr. He is joined by center Brett Neilon, tackle Andrew Voorhees, tight end Erik Krommenhoek, athlete Randal Grimes, wide receiver Marlon Williams, safety C.J. Miller and linebackers Juliano Falaniko and Daniel Green.
