Four-star cornerback Trajan Bandy announced his de-commitment from Oklahoma Monday night, listing USC football in his Top 6 schools in the aftermath.

Oklahoma’s loss is USC football’s potential gain as four-star cornerback Trajan Bandy dropped his pledge to the Sooners and a new Top 6 on Twitter late Monday.

“Due to the enormous pressures of the recruiting process, I have decided to de-commit from the University of Oklahoma,” Bandy tweeted. “I appreciate the coaches and fans, and would ask that everyone respect my decision.”

Bandy indicated that Oklahoma would still be in the running for his signature, but they’ll now be competing with USC, Miami, South Carolina, Penn State and Tennessee.

The Miami-based prospect is listed as the No. 27 cornerback in the class and the No. 36 player in Florida, according to the 247Sports composite.

The Crystal Ball experts say Miami holds the edge in his recruitment.

USC is currently without a cornerback in the 2017 class after losing the commitment of Thomas Graham earlier this year. However, the Trojans are pursuing a number of highly-rated corners including Elijah Molden and Jaylon Johnson, who have listed USC among their top schools recently.

The 2016 recruiting class included one of the nation’s top corners in Jack Jones, along with under-the-radar prospect Keyshawn “Pie” Young.

Regardless of what happens in this class, USC is set to return almost the entirety of the cornerback group currently enrolled. With no seniors at the position, only Adoree’ Jackson is in danger of departing for the NFL.

USC’s class of 2017 was reduced to nine last week with the de-commitment of safety Bubba Bolden.

The group now includes running back Stephen Carr, center Brett Neilon, tackle Andrew Voorhees, receiver Marlon Williams, athlete Randal Grimes, tight end Erik Krommenhoek, safety C.J. Miller and linebackers Juliano Falaniko and Daniel Green.
