Four-star quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is set to make his commitment Monday night at 9:00 p.m. Pacific, choosing between USC, Alabama and others.

Tua Tagovailoa, one of the top quarterbacks in the class of 2017, is set to announce his college commitment for the class of 2017 Monday night.

USC, Alabama, UCLA, Washington, Arizona, Hawai’i, Ole Miss and Texas A&M are the top eight schools the four-star recruit has been considering since March.

Tagovailoa’s announcement will be streamed live at 9:00 p.m. Pacific time on KHON2, the FOX affiliate in Honolulu.

The Honolulu product attends St. Louis High School, the alma mater of Oregon Heisman winner Marcus Mariota, and has been compared to the talented Duck since emerging as a top recruit.

He is the No. 2 dual threat quarterback in the 2017 class, according to the 247Sports composite.

Though USC was considered an early favorite for the quarterback, recent momentum has seen Alabama take the lead after Tagovailoa unofficially visited Tuscaloosa in early April. Now the Trojans are hoping that their lead was enough to keep Tagovailoa looking their way.

If Tagovailoa commits to USC, Clay Helton will have a talented dual-threat quarterback to build around once Max Browne and Sam Darnold move on. If Tagovailoa opts to commit to Alabama instead, the Trojans can at least point to the 2018 commitment of five-star quarterback Matt Corrall, though missing out on Shea Patterson, Tate Martell, KJ Costello and Tagovailoa is in 2016 and 2017 represents a string of major disappointments.

On Sunday, Tagovailoa tweeted about his own deadline day.

Then on Monday morning the recruit posted a one-word message: “Content.”

It would seem that Tagovailoa knows which school will receive his commitment. It’s just a matter of time until he announces his decision to the world.
