In perhaps the most surprising news brief of the USC Trojans’ 2014 fall camp thus far, redshirt sophomore linebacker Scott Starr will now go by the name Scott Felix.
According to USC Athletics on Twitter, the name was legally changed to Felix, the name of his father.

Going into this season, Felix is expected to get playing time as a rush end. He’s listed as a co-starter at rush end on the depth chart along with senior J.R. Tavai.
Since signing with the Trojans as part of the 2012 recruiting class, Felix has played in nine games and has recorded 11 total tackles. He redshirted as a true freshman after suffering a neck injury in the Pac-12 road opener at Stanford.
Felix was a four-star linebacker out of Norco High School and was USA Today All-USA first team.
