The USC Trojans picked up their 11th commitment of the 2015 football recruiting class on Monday after, in the form of 4-star wide receiver Desean Holmes, as announced on Twitter.
Holmes is ranked by Rivals as the No. 21 receiver in the country, and hails from Bishop Alemany in Mission Hills, the same school that produced current redshirt freshman wide receiver Steven Mitchell.
At 5-foot-9, 170 pounds, Holmes is undersized and should be able to find himself with a slot receiver role at Troy.
Steve Sarkisian’s new offense utilizes a slot receiver rather than a fullback in most sets, and has allowed the Trojans to recruit a wider array of talent at receiver.
With Holmes on board, the Trojans have 11 verbal commitments to the 2015 class, with two being at receiver.
Junior college receiver De’Quan Hampton committed to the Trojans last month, but has both the size and ability to play tight end. Furthermore, both defensive backs Taeon Mason and Isaiah Langley can play receiver but look to stick to the defensive side of the ball as of now.
Sarkisian now as 14 scholarships to play with, and is nearly halfway to filling out his first 25-man class at USC. For a full list on 2015 commitments, click here.
