USC tied Stanford for the most first team selections in the Pac-12, with five apiece. Oregon and Washington each had four, while California, Colorado and Washington State didn’t have a first team selection.
Athlon Sports released their annual preseason All Pac-12 team on Tuesday, with the list including five selections from the USC Trojans on the first team. Included in those were running back Buck Allen, defensive lineman Leonard Williams, safety Su’a Cravens and Nelson Agholor, who was named twice, as both a receiver and a punt returner.
Of the marquee players selected, Oregon’s Marcus Mariota beat out UCLA’s Brett Hundley for first team quarterback, and ASU’s Jaelen Strong edged Stanford’s Ty Montgomery for a receiver spot on the first team.
Oddly enough, Utah features both the first team punter and first team kicker.
Rounding out the conference teams for the Trojans were Hayes Pullard and Josh Shaw on the second team, Max Tuerk and Tre Madden on the third team, and Randall Telfer and Antwaun Woods on the fourth team.
Athlon has USC ranked as the No. 14 team in the nation, which is good for fourth in the Pac-12 conference behind Oregon at No. 6, UCLA at No. 7 and Stanford at No. 12. Both Arizona State and Washington round out the Top 25 teams in the Pac-12, at No. 16 and No. 24, respectively.
