Andre James, an offensive tackle out of Herriman, Utah, named USC among his top six schools Wednesday, giving the Trojans an opportunity to land one of the top players in the state of Utah.

The 6’5, 275 pound tackle earned a scholarship from the Trojans at the end of April after an unofficial visit in March. With six teams vying for his attentions and just five official visits allowed, James will have to trim his list just a bit more as the year progresses.
Rivals rates James as a three-star recruit, as does 247Sports, though both ESPN and Scout give him a four-star grade. According to 247Sports and ESPN he is among the top five players in Utah.
At Herriman, James has exhibited strength in run blocking, with room to grow in pass protection. Considering Steve Sarkisian’s emphasis on a power run game, James would certainly fit the bill on Tim Drevno’s offensive line.
The Trojans already boast commitments from from the No. 2 offensive tackle in the country, Chuma Edoga, and Roy Hemsley, a three-star tackle from Windward.
