The annual NFL Draft concluded this past weekend, with the USC Trojans having three players selected by NFL teams, and another eight alums finding themselves signing as undrafted free agents.
Going into draft day, USC had two first round hopefuls, as both Marqise Lee and Marcus Martin were invited to attend the draft in New York City.
Both players ultimately slipped and went in day two, with Lee being selected early in the second round by the Jacksonville Jaguars and Martin being a third round pick of the San Francisco 49ers.
On Day 3 of the draft, the story for USC was more about who didn’t get drafted, than who did. Devon Kennard went to the New York Giants in the fifth round, while early draft entrants Dion Bailey, Xavier Grimble and George Uko went undrafted.
Junior college transfer and 2012 standout Morgan Breslin also wound up going undrafted, after being considered a possible first round talent a year ago.
Rounding out the eight undrafted free agents with contracts were Kevin Graf, John Martinez, Demetrius Wright and Silas Redd.
