Marqise Lee had a good bow tie go to waste on Thursday night when he fell out of the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft. After being considered a top five pick a year ago, it was a big fall and a suprise to some who have followed him closely both at USC and in the run to the NFL Draft. Here’s how the media reacted to Lee’s draft status on Twitter:

Watkins disappeared his soph year, top-5 pick. Lee hurts knee, has avg year in season when coach is canned. Not drafted. Does not compute.

Exhibit A why the NFL is just plain dense: Marqise Lee not drafted in 1st round.

Marqise Lee is officially this year's Keenan Allen. Plenty of teams will regret passing on him.

No way after watching Marqise Lee for two seasons at #USC that I'd think he wouldn't be first round pick in the NFL. Wow.

My highest rated players still available: Jernigan (18th), Lee (23), Hyde (24) and Hageman (26)

Marqise Lee has a loss of value insurance policy. If he can prove his drop was because of his injury, he can so far collect $3.8M

The idea that @TeamLee1 would not be drafted in the 1st round was beyond unthinkable a year ago.

Man, I will just be floored if Marqise Lee doesn't get drafted tonight. He's sitting there right now for last year's final four.
