Marqise Lee's Knee Sprain Has Several NFL Teams Out, Per Reports

It’s Day 2 of the NFL Draft and Marqise Lee remains undrafted, though he will likely be selected in tonight’s second round, despite being long considered a first round lock. Multiple reports on Friday have leaked that it’s his knee sprain initially suffered last season at Arizona State that has been the cause for the slide.

Tony Pauline of Draft Insider reported this morning that “there’s no denying he slipped due to red flags on his injured knee”. This afternoon, self-proclaimed injury expert Will Carroll says that those red flags are flying across half of the league.

As Carroll mentions, Lee’s MCL sprain was never repaired, as he played through the injury last season, despite not suiting up for three games and being extremely limited in two more.

Had Lee been shut down and received more treatment, missing the typical four weeks for an MCL sprain initially rather than nursing it for three months, things might have turned out differently.

All things considered, Lee looks to be a second rounder. For a list of the top six suitors for him in the second round, click here.
