The recruiting of Taj Griffin has come to a head, as one of the nation’s top running back announced on Twitter this evening that he’ll be committing to a school on Thursday.
I will be announcing my commitment tomorrow

Griffin, out of Powder Springs, Ga., is a McEachern teammate of USC’s newest commitment Chuma Edoga, making him an interesting prospect for the Trojans.
While neither Rivals or 247Sports has reported that USC has offered a scholarship to Griffin, his relationship with Edoga could be a pivotal factor. Edoga vowed to recruit for the Trojans when he committed on Monday, and guaranteed that USC would finish with the nation’s top class.
As of now, the top players for Griffin appear to be the in-state Georgia Bulldogs, running back haven Oregon, and regional powers Clemson and Florida State.
According to Mike Farrell of Rivals, Oregon could have the inside shot at Griffin. His 5-foot-10, 176 pound frame, would fit in line with past Ducks like LaMichael James and De’Anthony Thomas.
For the Trojans, Griffin would be an integral part of the 2015 class, as Steve Sarkisian looks to build depth in the backfield as Tre Madden and Buck Allen could both be NFL bound following the 2014 season. USC didn’t sign a running back in 2014 due to low scholarship numbers and having four capable backs in Madden, Allen, Ty Isaac and Justin Davis, but Sarkisian said on Signing Day that he intends on signing two running backs in 2015.
As of now, USC’s 2015 recruiting class stands at four members, highlighted by Ricky Town and Chuma Edoga. For a full list of commitments, click here.
