USC Spring Football: Steve Sarkisian Pleased With Thursday's Practice

Following up on a sloppy spring practice on Tuesday, Steve Sarkisian’s USC Trojans were back on the field Thursday, which marked the midway point of the scheduled practices.

For starters, Sarkisian was pleased with the improvement in the sharpness of the team, reports Mike Piellucci of 247 Sports:

Along with a better practice, Sarkisian also believes his Trojans have begun to grow into their own, according to Piellucci:

The Trojans establishing an identity under the new coaching staff will be key as several aspects of the team have changed. The offense is drastically different than what’s been in place and the defense is also undergoing some changes.

Nonetheless, the toughness Sarkisian speaks of and the suggestion that the team will be resilient one are two traits that could bode well with a schedule that has a road trip to Stanford in the second week of the season.

Under Lane Kiffin, the Trojans too often wilted once they were trailing in games and the offensive line in particular lacked consistent toughness.

In potentially remedying those two issues, Sarkisian will have taken a significant step towards having a successful season.
