Beginning the season with just two of their first 15 games coming on the road, USC now plays at No. 12 Oregon for a three-game series that begins Friday.
The weekend series will be the first, true road test for the Trojans, whose road games up to this point have come against Long Beach State and UC Irvine.
The Ducks began the season 8-0 and climbed as high as No. 9 in the rankings, but are 5-4 since that point, including being swept in a three-game home set with Cal State Fullerton.
Similar to the Ducks, the Trojans were undefeated through their first seven games with a trio of walk-off wins. They have since struggled and are just 2-6 in their last eight games.
A 6-1 win over LMU on Tuesday ended the Trojans’ four-game losing streak.
With a 5-4 record at home, the Ducks have been off since a dominating, 20-4 win over Ohio State on Sunday.
Jake Hernandez and Kevin Swick continue to lead the Trojans in hitting, with .400 and .415 batting averages, respectively.
Though only hitting .241, Dante Flores leads the Trojans with 16 RBIs and is tied for second on the team with four doubles.
Tyler Baumgartner leads in batting average, .391, hits — 25, runs scored — 17 and doubles with seven. Baumgartner can also be prone to striking out, which he leads the Ducks with 13.
