Doc Rivers Says Andy Enfield's "Magic" Will Turn USC Basketball Around

The USC men’s basketball team is gearing up for their match up with Colorado in the Pac-12 tournament in Las Vegas Wednesday, hoping to follow in the footsteps of their female counterparts who stormed their way through the women’s tournament en route to a NCAA tournament bid.

While the men’s chances of finding their own “Why Not Us?” moment in Vegas are certainly slim, Clippers head coach Doc Rivers believes that Trojan head coach Andy Enfield will make his mark in Los Angeles in due time.

Rivers’ comments came during his presser before the Clippers’ game versus the Phoenix Suns Monday. USC students were in attendance, prompting the discussion of the Trojan’s subpar basketball season.

USC finished the season at the bottom of the Pac-12 with just two wins in conference play. Starting the season brightly enough in out-of-conference play with a record of 9-4 and wins over Dayton and Xavier. Unfortunately, the Pac-12 slate proved too much for Enfield’s squad, which endured a ten-game losing streak between January and March.

Sensing the general dissatisfaction with the men’s program this season, Rivers also cracked wise with the students about sports to look forward to:
