After dispatching powerhouse Stanford last night in a big upset, the USC Women of Troy face the Oregon State Beavers tonight in the championship game of the Women’s Pac-12 Tournament, for a chance at their first conference title in 20 years.
The Trojans are led by Cassie Harberts and Alexyz Vaioletama, who combined for 32 points in last night’s win over Stanford. Harberts scored 10 unanswered points late in the game to give Troy the lead in the final minutes, ultimately putting the nail in Stanford’s coffin.
Oregon State enters the game as winners of their last 11 games, and 13 of their last 14. The Beavers finished tied for second in the Pac-12 and split their season series with USC.
On January 17th, USC beat Oregon State 81-60 at the Galen Center, led by Harberts’ 22 points. In Corvallis last month, the Beavs got revenge, as red-hot OSU ran the Trojans out of the building with a dominating second half effort in a 58-48 win.
