USC released the new roster for 2014 Tuesday, which means we learned what numbers to look for when the Trojans finally take the field for spring practice on March 11.
Of note, the five early enrollees now have official numbers. The biggest surprise comes from offensive lineman Toa Lobendahn who will wear the #55, a number usually reserved for linebackers. Currently the number on defense is owned by Lamar Dawson.
Offensive lineman Jordan Austin will join defensive counterpart Anthony Sarao in sporting the #56. Quarterback Jalen Greene will do the same with Hayes Pullard and the #10.
Claude Pelon will look to fill some big shoes by taking George Uko’s old #90.
In the change department, receiver Steven Mitchell begins his sophomore season with a swap from #81 to #7, though we never actually saw him in the old number due to a season-ending injury last year.
Linebacker Quinton Powell will also have a fresh start by exchanging his #52 for #18, which was previously worn by the departed Dion Bailey. Meanwhile Texas Tech defensive line transfer Delvon Simmons will don Powell’s old number instead of 2013’s #97.
Walk-on receiver Robby Kolanz will ditch the #49 in favor of a more receiver-friendly #86.
