The USC Trojans played their final home game of the 2013-2014 season and it ended like much of the others did — a loss — this time at the hands of the Oregon Ducks, 78-63, which moved the Trojans’ Pac-12 record to 1-15.
Prior to tipoff the Trojans honored five seniors, notably Pe’Shon Howard, Omar Oraby and J.T. Terell. Also honored were D.J. Haley and Daniel Munoz, respectively.
The Trojans began Saturday’s game much better than they did on Thursday against the Oregon State Beavers, as they managed to hold a lead through portions of the first half and played the Ducks to a tie by halftime.
Howard was the Trojans leading scorer with 20 points, with 16 of them coming in the second half. The Trojans managed to keep the game close until just under nine minutes, when the Ducks used a 13-0 run to take control of the game.
Byron Wesley was the only other Trojan to reach double figures with 12 points. Oraby had a disappointing eight points on five shot attempts to go along with just three rebounds.
Mike Moser scored 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for the Ducks and Joseph Young contributed with 16 points. The Ducks had four players score in double digits.
With the loss, the Trojans have now dropped 10 straight and will head out for a two-game road trip to round out the regular season.
