Fresh off a 6-1 upset over No. 3 Cal State Fullerton, the USC Trojans look to remain undefeated as they host North Dakota State for a three-game homestand, beginning Friday.
While the Trojans have already played four regular season games, Friday will be the season opener for the Bison, who were 26-27 last season and return their top eight hitters.
It’s been a team effort for the Trojans, who have gotten contributions at the plate from Vahn Bozoian, Dante Flores, Jake Hernandez, Garrett Stubbs, Kevin Swick and AJ Ramirez — all of whom are hitting at least .300.
Bozoian is batting .353 through four games and leads the team with two home runs and two RBIs. Wyatt Strahan will be charged with getting the series off on the right foot for the Trojans. Thus far, he’s pitched 6.0 innings and has a 3.00 ERA to go along with five strikeouts.
For the Bison, David Ernst draws the first attempt to limit a Trojan offense that has scored 25 runs and collected 50 hits on the season.
