The USC Trojans concluded their three-game homestand on Sunday with a game against the Colorado Buffaloes that resulted in the same manner as the previous two home games — a Trojan loss.
With the 83-74 loss, the Trojans have now dropped six straight and are 1-9 in their last 10 games.
Xavier Johnson scored 20 points and was one of five Buffaloes to score in double figures. Askia Booker contributed with 18 points and Josh Scott scored 17.
Byron Wesley led the Trojans with 21 points and eight rebounds. J.T. Terrell scored 14 points and was the only other Trojan to score more than nine points. Freshman Nikola Jovanovic struggles continued as he managed to score only two points on 1-of-5 shooting.
The Trojans held a brief one-point lead nearly four minutes into the game, but never held the lead again. The Buffaloes had an eight-point lead at the half and were able to maintain a double-digit lead for most the second half, with the Trojans never threatening after cutting their deficit to 47-43 with 14:54 remaining.
With the win on Sunday, the Buffaloes have swept the two-game season series against the Trojans, with their first victory, a 21-point drubbing, coming on Jan. 18.
Next on the schedule for the Trojans is a road game against Stanford on Thursday.
