Recruiting: Iman Marshall, Cameron Smith Pick Up Scholarship Offers

According to Adam Gorney, five-star 2015 cornerback Iman Marshall (Long Beach, Calif./Long Beach Poly) picked up a scholarship offer from Florida on Thursday.

As Gorney notes, boasts an impressive collection of offers from the likes of, LSU, Miami, Notre Dame, UCLA and USC.  At 6-2, Marshall has great height and could have an immediate impact in 2015, despite the Trojans loading up on defensive backs in the 2014 recruiting cycle.

Potentially aiding the Trojans’ pursuit of Marshall’s signature was getting Juju Smith’s commitment.  With Smith in the fold, it could help pave the way to establishing a pipeline between Long Beach Poly and USC — similar to what Robert Woods helped facilitate between Junipero Serra and USC.

Gorney also reported four-star 2015 linebacker Cameron Smith (Granite Bay, Calif./Granite Bay) received a scholarship offer from Arizona.  Smith is rated by Rivals as the No. 4 inside linebacker in the 2015 class, and given the Trojans need to sign linebackers in the next class, figures to be a prime target for Steve Sarkisian and Co.

Marshall and Smith were both present on the day Sarkisian and the coaching staff hosted a a collection of junior prospects.  With the opportunity to sign 25 players and the amount of elite talent throughout the west coast, the 2015 class may prove to be just as pivotal as 2014 was for Sarkisian.
