Steve Sarkisian got a big jump on the next year’s class as USC hosted several 2015 recruits on Saturday.
For some in attendance, the visit included a scholarship offer. The visit also resulted in a commitment from cornerback Taeon Mason (Pasadena, Calif./Muir).
Based on a photo posted by Isaiah Langley (Pleasaton, Calif./Foothill) on his Twitter account, Town was also visiting USC on Saturday.
Mason joins quarterbacks David Sills (Elkton, Md./Eastern Christian Academy) and Ricky Town (Ventura, Calif./St. Bonaventure) as those who have given their verbal pledge to the Trojans.
Two offers that standout are four-star defensive tackle Jacob Daniel (Fresno, Calif./Clovis North) and four-star linebacker Cameron Smith (Granite Bay, Calif./Granite Bay).
Daniel and Smith both play positions that will likely be recruiting focal points for Steve Sarkisian in 2015.
Early enrolle Claude Pelon is the sole 2014 commit who plays on the interior of the defensive line. The Trojans had been in pursuit of Josh Frazier (Springdale, Ark./Har-Ber) but it appears that ship has since sailed.
Without any 2014 linebacker commits, Smith could headline a group of linebacker commitments for the Trojans.
Despite focusing on the back four of the defense in the current class, Sarkisian extended scholarship offers to three 2015 defensive backs.
The West region is expected to be chock-full of California talent in 2015.
And now…for the photos:
