Ed Orgeron to be on CBS Sports’ Signing Day Show

Update: Ed Orgeron will be the first guest on CBSSports.com’s Signing Day special according to Bruce Feldman. The show begins at 6 a.m. Pacific.

Since resigning from his post as USC’s interim head coach in early December following the hiring of Steve Sarkisian, Ed Orgeron has been rather reclusive. That will change next week, according to Bruce Feldman of CBS Sports.

In Feldman’s weekly mailbag on Friday, he mentioned that Orgeron would make a media appearance on Wednesday, for National Signing Day.

From @AdamDuvall: What’s the latest on Ed Orgeron?

He’s in the New Orleans area getting to spend time with his family. You can hear more from him Wednesday. He is scheduled to be on our Signing Day show here on CBSSports.com.

It’s unclear what the extent of Orgeron’s responsibilities will entail as of now, and whether or not he’ll address the USC situation. Orgeron is known as an elite recruiter, which makes him an interesting guest for a recruiting special, given that Feldman wrote a book surrounding Orgeron’s recruiting prowess at Ole Miss.

Jeremy Fowler of CBS tweeted on Friday afternoon that the CBS Sports National Signing Day show had an all-star cast of current head coaches. Included on the guest list are Ohio State’s Urban Meyer, Texas A&M’s Kevin Sumlin, UCLA’s Jim Mora, Notre Dame’s Brian Kelly and Penn State’s newly-appointed head coach James Franklin, among others.

That’s awesome. It’ll be interesting to hear him talk about recruiting while being unemployed, since so much of it has had to be off the record.

Agreed. That’s where I see the appeal. Should be fun. I’ll try and catch it.
