Four-star defensive tackle Josh Frazier (Springdale, Ark./Har-Ber) will not be taking an official visit to USC and is considered a solid commit to the Alabama Crimson Tide, per Rivals.com’s Andrew Bone.
Frazier grew up a Trojan fan and established a good rapport with former interim coach Ed Orgeron. When Orgeron was not retained, it appeared to hurt the Trojan’s chances with Frazier.
However, Steve Sarkisian and the coaching staff remained persistent and had Frazier set to make an official visit, which was reported as cancelled and then changed to rescheduled.
With Frazier canceling once more, it’s likely he and the Trojans will part ways for good. That leaves Claude Pelon (Mesa, Ariz./Mesa Community College) as the sole interior defensive linemen currently in the 2014 class.
Potentially getting Frazier’s commitment would have been a tremendous aid when considering the void that may be left along the interior of the defensive line moving forward.
Leonard Williams will be entering his junior season at the start of the 2014 season and will likely enter the 2015 NFL Draft.
Rivals ranks Fraizer as the No. 5 defensive tackle in the 2014 class.
