Today I have de-committed from Alabama. It was an honor to get to know Coach Saban and the Alabama fans. Thank you!

2015 quarterback Ricky Town (Ventura, Calif./St. Bonaventure) announced via Twitter that he is no longer committed to Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide.
The timing of Town’s de-commitment doesn’t come as much of a surprise when considering the recent arrival of Lane Kiffin in Tuscaloosa.
When Kiffin was head coach of the Trojans, they seemed to fall out of favor with the quarterback. During USC’s big recruiting weekend on Jan. 17, Town and his family made an unofficial visit.
Perhaps further aiding the Trojans’ efforts in recruiting Town is they are in prime position to sign two of his teammates as part of their 2014 class.
Four-star tight end Bryce Dixon (Ventura, Calif./St. Bonaventure) is currently committed to the Trojans and recently had a critical in-home visit with the coaching staff.
Dixon is said to be interested in attending the same college as his friend and teammate, two-star defensive back Davonte Nunnery (Ventura, Calif./St. Bonaventure).
Nunnery has been offered as a preferred walk-on by USC and UCLA and the general feeling is the Trojans hold the lead for his signature — particularly if Dixon stays true to his verbal commitment.
The opportunity to sign three players from St. Bonaventure in the two forthcoming classes could bode well for Steve Sarkisian as it may develop a pipeline.
Rivals currently ranks Town as the No. 9 player in the class of 2015 and No. 3 player in the state of California.
UPDATE: According to Garry Paskewitz of WeAreSC.com, Ricky Town is on the USC campus today.
The Trojans are again hosting a slew of recruits who are on their official visits and this is Town’s second unofficial visit in as many weeks.
