USC Announces New Date For Trojan Family Weekend

After originally scheduling Trojan Family Weekend for Sept. 27, USC announced 2014’s Thursday night home game will have a little extra flare to it.

Trojan Family Weekend has been rescheduled for Nov. 13-16, per the university’s athletics Twitter account.

It will mark just the second non-Thanksgiving home game on a Thursday for the Trojans, which was a point of contention last season.

With USC students attending classes, on-campus parking that is typically used for games on Saturday was not available, which may have played a role last season in the smaller than desired crowd for the game against Arizona on Oct. 10.

By opting to align Trojan Family Weekend with the Nov. 13 tilt, it may provide a boost to game attendance.

In 2013, the Trojans soundly defeated the Golden Bears, 62-28, for their third consecutive win in what was a five-game winning streak.

The last meeting between the two teams at the Coliseum (2012) was another victory for the Trojans, 27-9.

The Trojans hold a 65-30-5 series lead, not counting one win that was vacated by the NCAA, and the Trojans haven’t lost a game to the Golden Bears since the triple-overtime thriller in 2003.

Homecoming weekend remains scheduled for Oct. 18, when the Trojans will play Colorado.
