USC's Dion Bailey Pledges Up To $10k To Injured Oklahoma Sooner Aaron Colvin

When Oklahoma cornerback Aaron Colvin went down with a torn ACL during Senior Bowl practices, the sports world collectively grimaced.

His agent tweeted the news, which potentially spells disaster for the young player who went to Mobile, Alabama in the hopes of increasing his draft stock, but will leave with an injury which may derail his NFL career before it begins.

Like many other players USC safety Dion Bailey offered his condolences on Twitter.

Bailey, however, took it a step forward and put his money where his mouth is, literally.

The redshirt junior who declared for the draft after USC’s Vegas Bowl victory and is not even in attendance at the Senior Bowl. He and Colvin have no apparent personal connection — Colvin was born and bred in Tulsa, Oklahoma while Bailey has always called Southern California home.

Colvin was projected by NFLdraftscout.com as a second or third round selection. The injury certainly sends his draft stock tumbling, but it is hard to say if he will fall out of the draft completely. After all, ACL’s are not the career-ender that they used to be.

Bailey is projected to be among the first strong safeties selected in the draft but it will take work for him to jump into the first round.
