USC Officially Announces Hiring of Justin Wilcox, Marques Tuiasosopo, Tim Drevno

The USC Trojans officially announced the hiring of three assistant coaches as Steve Sarkisian nears the completion of his staff in Los Angeles.

Justin Wilcox, who was the defensive coordinator at Washington under Sarkisian, and Marques Tuisasosopo, another Washington assistant of the new USC head coach, were both widely rumored as potential additions as bowl season got under way.

Tim Drevno was only today mentioned as a possibility. He hails from the 49ers by way of Stanford.

With Tuiasosopo slated to coach tight ends, Clay Helton will likely remain in his role as the quarterbacks coach.

These three hires mean Sarkisian’s staff has just one spot open for a defensive line coach. That confirms Helton and wide receivers coach Tee Martin will be the lone hold overs from the current staff, leaving popular figures like Clancy Pendergast, running backs coach Tommie Robinson and special teams coordinator John Baxter without a place in Los Angeles.

Of course, the open position leaves the door tantalizingly open for a potential Ed Orgeron return.
