USC Trojans vs. Long Beach State 49ers
Walter Pyramid | Long Beach, Calif.
7:30 pm | Prime Ticket
All-Time Series: USC leads 8-5
Last meeting: USC 62, Long Beach State 44 on Nov. 13, 2012
The USC Trojans will be taking a trip south to face the Long Beach State 49ers on Thursday night. It will be the first meeting between the Trojans and 49ers at the Walter Pyramid since 2001.
The two teams enter the game on opposite ends of the spectrum as the 49ers are in the midst of a nine-game losing streak, compared to the Trojans, who have won their last three games.
At 7-3 the Trojans are off to their best start since the 2009 season, however they are 1-3 in games away from the Galen Center.
The 49ers lone win in 2013 came in their season opener against Hawaii-Pacific on Nov. 9. Their disappointing record can largely be attributed to having faced Arizona, Michigan, VCU, and Washington all on the road or at a neutral location.
With a 2-11 record in their last 13 nonconference road games, the Trojans will receive a boost as senior guard JT Terrell is set to return to the lineup on Thursday.
The Trojans managed to keep their winning streak alive in a narrow victory over Cal State Bakersfield, but a similar effort on Thursday would likely extend their road woes.
