USC drops from AP Top 25, USA Today Coaches Poll, and BCS Standings

USC was back in the polls following an upset of then N0.4 Stanford, and being ranked was short-lived.

Following a blowout home loss at the hands of No. 18 UCLA, the Trojans are again an unranked team.

Like in 2012, the Trojans end their regular season unranked after a loss to a rival and must now wait for a bowl to extend an invitation.

Currently, it appears as though the Trojans are likely headed to the Las Vegas Bowl to face the Mountain West conference champion, which will be either Utah State or Fresno State.

Should the Trojans land in Las Vegas, Nev., it would make for an interesting setting considering they defeated the Aggies 17-14 on Sept. 21, and will open up the 2014 season on Aug. 30 against the Bulldogs.

For those interested in getting an early glimpse of the Trojans likely next opponent, the Mountain West conference championship game will be played on Dec. 7 at
7 p.m. PST and be broadcast on CBS.

While a visit to Las Vegas would likely be considered an upgrade over a potential return trip to El Paso, Texas, it too would come with some disappointment as the Trojans entered Saturday’s game with an outside chance of reaching the Holiday Bowl.
