The USC Trojans and UCLA Bruins will renew their heated rivalry next Saturday(November 30th) at the LA Coliseum, and finally have a kickoff time and television network in place. According to Greg Beacham of the Associated Press, the game will kickoff at 5:00 p.m. Pacific and be televised on ABC.
With the game coming at the primetime slot for ESPN’s coverage on ABC, it’s likely that Brent Musburger and Kirk Herbstreit could be on the call. The tandem will be on hand for College Gameday in Auburn, AL on Saturday morning, and the only other ABC telecast that could take the No. 1 broadcast team is a noon Eastern kickoff between Ohio State and Michigan.
USC is 46-29-7 all-time vs. UCLA, are winners of 12 of the last 14 and haven’t lost to UCLA at the Coliseum since 1997.
That said, UCLA holds the rights to the Victory Bell. Last year at the Rose Bowl, UCLA won their first meeting since 2006, defeating the Trojans 38-28 on a sloppy, rainy afternoon in Pasadena.
Only bowl position, bragging rights and recruiting battles will be on the line for the Trojans and Bruins, following UCLA’s loss to Arizona State on Saturday, which sealed the Pac-12 South for ASU. Had UCLA beaten the Sun Devils, there was a slim chance the Crosstown Rivalry would be for a right to play Stanford in the Pac-12 Championship Game.
Both teams have three losses on the season, with USC coming into the game at 9-3 and 6-2 in the Pac-12, while UCLA enters at 8-3 overall and 5-3 in conference.
