Poll: USC vs. Stanford, Who Wins the Turnover Battle?

Homecoming, College GameDay, and a matchup that has inspired plenty of debate.

No. 4 Stanford enters the game as the favorite.

USC and its fans believe the Trojans have what it takes to put an end to the Cardinal’s National Championship aspirations.

In a game where the teams are similarly matched in skill, the outcome can be swayed by the turnover battle.

Both the Cardinal and the Trojans are in the positive with respect to turnover margin, and each has turned the ball over 11 times.

However, one team has managed to force three more turnovers than the other. That would be the Trojans, who have 16 takeaways on the season.

While the Trojans own the larger number of turnovers, it is the Cardinal who have forced at least one turnover in all nine of their games.

When comparing results against common opponents, the Trojans have 11 turnovers and the Cardinal have five.

The stats suggest the Trojans have been more feast or famine, whereas the Cardinal have been more consistent, even if not as prolific.
