As the Trojan’s gear up to face the Irish of Notre Dame, the considerable injury list USC looks a little bit more clear than last week.
The big news? Marqise Lee will play after missing just one game due to the much more serious-looking knee injury he sustain against Arizona State.
“How much he’ll play, we don’t know. What percent he is we don’t know, but I’ve got a feeling he’ll play,” Coach Ed Orgeron said before the Trojans left for South Bend on Thursday.
Morgan Breslin is also due to return from the hip injury that hampered him against the Sun Devils and held him out completely against the Wildcats. Anthony Brown is set to strengthen the secondary today when he returns after five games out with a knee injury.
On to the bad news. The Trojan’s leading rusher Tre Madden is still hampered by the hamstring injury he picked up last week.
“There’d have to be a lot of things that would have to change to upgrade or to think that he could play,” Coach O said about Madden’s status.
Victor Blackwell also looks unlikely to recover from his ankle injury quickly enough to play. On the other hand, receivers De’Von Flournoy and Darreus Rogers are due to play, while tight end Xavier Grimble is unlikely to miss any more time with the shoulder injury he suffered against Arizona.
