1) Redd Alert

Every week this season the question has been posed: Will Silas Redd make his return. It looks like this is the week. The importance of his debut happens to be heightened by the potential absence of Justin Davis, whose ankle injury could keep him sidelined. Tre Madden and Davis have done an exceptional job covering for the senior’s absence, with Madden actually settling in as the full-time starter. However, Redd lends a great deal of experience and leadership to the position while bolstering USC’s short yardage offense with his knack for picking up hard yards.

That doesn’t mean there aren’t concerns for Redd’s return. There’s bound to be rust after being out so long and he’ll have to work through that. The biggest issue will be how he fits into the rotation, with Madden demanding the bulk of the carries.
