Ed Orgeron will officially begin his stint as USC’s interim head football coach this Thursday night, when his Trojans host the 3-1 Arizona Wildcats at the LA Coliseum.
It’ll be UA head coach Rich Rodriguez’s first trip to the Coliseum to play USC, and he’ll be looking for his first ever win in the state of California as a head coach. He’s currently 0-2. To do so, Rodriguez and the Wildcats will have to beat the Trojans as a presumed underdog.
For entertainment purposes only, the betting line for Thursday night’s matchup opened up on Sunday, and the Trojans found themselves as a 5-point home favorite.
So far through five games, the Trojans are a lackluster 1-4 against the spread, having only covered against Boston College back in Week 3. That gives USC a 1-2 record at home against the spread.
Arizona, having played one fewer game, is 2-1-1 against the spread so far this season, including a 1-1 record on the road. The Cats beat the line at UNLV, but lost in their last time out in Seattle against Washington, back on September 28th.
