USC vs. ASU Kickoff Time Set for September 28 Game

For the fourth straight trip to Tempe, the Trojans will enter the House of Heat well after the sun. Word came out this morning that USC vs. Arizona State will be a night game on September 28th, scheduled to kickoff at either 7:00 p.m. PT on ESPN or 7:30 p.m. PT on ESPN2, depending on the outcomes of this week’s games.

A night game is a welcome development for everyone, as Tempe’s average historical temperature on September 28th is a sizzling 96 degrees.

USC is 18-10 all-time against Arizona State, and have won 12 of 13 games  against the Sun Devils, including five of the last six in Tempe. The Trojans dropped their last trip to Sun Devil Stadium, faltering 43-22 in 2011.

Arizona State is currently 2-0 with a big win over Sacramento State of the FCS, and a controversial victory against Big Ten champion Wisconsin, this past Saturday. The Sun Devils head up to Palo Alto this week, as they put their No. 23 ranking on the line against No. 5 Stanford.

As for USC, it’s Chuckie Keeton and Utah State this week. The game will kickoff at 12:30 p.m. Pacific and will air on ABC regionally, and ESPN2 across the rest of the nation. As with all games on the ESPN family of network, it’ll be available for live streaming on Watch ESPN.

As luck would have it I was there for USC’s only loss in their last six visits to Tempe. That game still really bothers me.

That game still boggles my mind. I’ve never seen a team get into the redzone with that much regularity and fail to score so often.

      Get over it.

Richard, I am over it per se. It’s just one of those frustrating losses that stings when thought about. Also, it wasn’t fun being a Trojan fan after a loss in a hostile environment. Prior to this trip, I had the good fortune of USC winning all the road games I had attended.

Besides, isn’t remembering, reminiscing, and talking about past games, both good and bad, part of the beauty of sports?

Having been to Tempe, I can attest to the fans definitely bordering on awful, making it hostile. Last time I was there for was for the 2007 game on Thanksgiving, and there were frat boys yelling “GET THE F— OUT OF TEMPE” at us as we just walked by. It was ridiculous, and that was a game that SC won.
