With a new half and a new mindset, the USC Trojans came into the third quarter with Max Wittek leading the Trojans onto the field instead of Cody Kessler. Things looked a little better earlier on; Tre Madden earned a 15-yard rish that got the Trojans into the Cougar redzone, despite the fact that the Wazzu defense seems to be catching on to USC’s penchant for shoving it up the middle.
The Trojans couldn’t get into the endzone, and when kicker Andre Heidari took the field for the 32-yard kick, the Cougars blocked it. For as much new energy as the Trojans came into the game with, it quickly fizzled out.
A whole lot of nothing happened between USC and Wazzu in the third quarter, something we never thought we would see from the Trojans at home.
USC remained scoreless in the third quarter thanks to a missed field 43-yard goal from Andre Heidari, and the Trojans have converted just one of nine third downs in this game.
Going into the fourth quarter, neither team is getting much of anything going, but that is far more disappointing for the Trojans than for the Cougars.
