CBSSports.com unanimously named USC wide receiver Marqise Lee to their 2013 Preseason All-American team that it released on Monday. The list is voted on by CBSSports.com college football analysts and staff members.
Aside from Lee, the website also unanimously selected Notre Dame’s Louis Nix, South Carolina’s Jadaveon Clowney and reigning Heisman trophy winner, Texas A&M’s Johnny Manziel.
On the offense, the Pac-12 has two more representatives in tight end Austin Sefarian-Jenkins (Washington) and offensive guard David Yankey (Stanford). Defensively, tackle Will Sutton (ASU), linebacker Anthony Barr (UCLA) and safety Ed Reynolds (Stanford) made the cut as well.
Interestingly, neither defensive end Morgan Breslin nor Leonard Williams earned preseason considerations from CBSSports.com, though they are widely considered by many to be amongst the best defensive players in the Pac-12.
The CBSSports.com Preseason All-American team is the third such team that Lee has been named to this summer, with Sports Illustrated and Athlon Sports naming him to theirs, respectively.
