USC has released its 2013-2014 basketball schedule, and new head coach Andy Enfield is already in for an ambitious undertaking in his very first season leading the Men of Troy.
Some of the highlights include tough non-conference home opponents such as Boston College and Howard University as well road games against Long Beach State, Dayton and Utah State. The Trojans will also travel to the Bahamas this season to participate in the Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament, held at the famous luxury hotel of the same name.
The Trojans are expected to play against as many as 11 teams that have played in the NCAA Tournament, and seven more that have made an NIT appearance.
USC noted that the released schedule is subject to change as TV assignments have yet to be made, though the non-conference pairings are set will likely remain.
The Men of Troy open their season on Nov. 8 at Utah State, the first time the Trojans will start their season on the road in a decade. Their home opener is slated for Nov. 12 at the Galen Center and the Trojans will host CSU Northridge. Interestingly, Northridge’s AD, Dr. Brandon Martin, will be returning to his alma mater, where he starred on the Trojan basketball team and made history as a 1,000-point scorer from 1993-96.
