Austin, a 6-foot-5, 267 pound tackle, is a big body for the Trojans in a position of need, with USC having four upperclassmen projected to start on the offensive line, including right tackle Kevin Graf. Zach Banner and Max Tuerk are likely to be in position to compete for a starting spot at tackle in the 2014 season, along with incoming freshman Nico Falah.
Austin, who hails from Claremeont, has four offers from Pac-12 schools and was just offered by the Trojans this afternoon while at USC’s Rising Stars Camp. Other schools with offers out for Austin include Arizona, Colorado and Washington.
With Austin aboard as a commit, USC now has six linemen pledged for 2014, including Jordan Poland and Toe Lobadahn on the offensive line and Austin Maloata and Michael Wyche on the defensive line.
Austin is unranked according to Rivals, though he’s the 91st best offensive tackle per 247Sports.
