Nissan’s Heisman House is back at it, as they’ll be kicking off the filming of this year’s commercial series over the weekend. The shoot will include two USC Heisman winners, quarterbacks Carson Palmer and Matt Leinart, who were teammates last year for the Oakland Raiders.
According to Nissan’s social media team, the commercial shoot’s participants will have the opportunity to run an Ask Me Anything (AMA) thread on Reddit during downtime. The AMA threads will be located at the /r/IAmA subreddit, although due to the confined time frame of the weekend’s filming, there is not a current schedule of when the AMAs will take place.
The highlight of last year’s Nissan Heisman House series may have been their commercial entitled ‘Hula’, shown above. The commercial featured Leinart returning to the house, only to find that Georgia’s Hershel Walker had dressed his Heisman trophy with a grass skirt. The commercial also featured another USC Heisman winner, Marcus Allen, who won the award in 1981, just one year ahead of Walker’s spectacular 1982 season.
Other than Leinart and Palmer, 10 other Heisman winners will participate, including Michigan’s Desmond Howard, Oklahoma State’s Barry Sanders and Notre Dame’s Tim Brown.
