Dewayne Dedmon Invited to NBA Combine

Two weeks removed from declaring for the 2013 NBA Draft, former USC Trojans center Dewayne Dedmon announced on his Twitter account that he’ll be attending the NBA Combine.

Currently, Dedmon looks like a long shot to be drafted by an NBA team, but his physical measurables could put the 7-footer on some teams’ big boards.

Dedmon is ranked as the 72nd overall player in the Draft Express Top 100, and the 26th among juniors. Aran Smith of NBADraft.net ranks Dedmon 62nd, and just ahead of two notable college stars, Bucknell’s Mike Muscala and Marquette’s Vander Blue, who come in at 63rd and 65th respectively.

The NBA Combine will run from May 15th through the 19th, taking place in Chicago, as Dedmon’s tweet pointed out. The event will be televised live on Thursday the 16th and Friday the 17th, and will be shown on ESPN2 and ESPNU. The Sporting News has the full television schedule of the combine, which includes live web coverage on ESPN3.

The NBA Draft Lottery is set to take place on May 21st, which will set the selection order for June 27th’s NBA Draft.
