USC entered its final week of spring camp on Tuesday, and it was less active than usual due to the mounting number of injuries that are troubling this squad. It was a pads and shorts, no tackle practice but a few Trojans found a way to make waves even with the restrictions.
Here are the quick hits from Tuesday’s practice:
Linebacker Lamar Dawson laid the hit stick on RB Justin Davis, knocking him backwards during the first play of goalline drills.
CB Ryan Henderson worked with the first team today, as did Anthony Brown. The Trojans are currently without Su’a Cravens, Kevon Seymour, Gerald Bowman and Torin Harris in the secondary due to injury.
Another defensive back, Demetrius Wright returned to practice today but only rehabbed in Muscle Beach. He told the media that he has decided against surgery to repair a torn labrum in his hip, and will try to work through it and play this fall.
De’Von Flournoy, Antwaun Woods and Cyrus Hobbi left practice early, though no official reason was given.
Head coach Lane Kiffin said Josh Shaw would stay at safety this week but will likely play cornerback in the fall.
Georgia four-star LB Bryson Allen-Williams watched USC practice from the sidelines today.
Kiffin also announced that a depth chart will be released Monday, after the conclusion of camp this weekend.
USC holds its second to last practice on Thursday, before wrapping up camp on Saturday with the Spring Game in the Coliseum at 1 p.m.
