The USC Trojans began Week 2 of spring camp on Tuesday. The team practiced in pads again, and the warm weather made the team a little sluggish, according to head coach Lane Kiffin. Aside from that, some players practiced particularly well, while others did not see the field at all.

Here are the quick hits from Tuesday’s practice:

  • Max Wittek and Marqise Lee, who sustained knee injuries in Saturday’s scrimmage, did not practice today. Both showed up for Muscle Beach and did rehab activities. Kiffin and Wittek both addressed the media and said that he has a sprained MCL, and will miss a week of practice. There were no torn ligaments, and Wittek said he wants to be back by Saturday.
  • Cornerback Kevon Seymour left practice late in the evening with a lower leg injury.
  • Safety Su’a Cravens stood out on Tuesday, recording two picks off of Max Browne.
  • Freshman defensive back Leon McQuay is practicing at safety this week. Last week, he practiced as a cornerback.
  • OL Marcus Martin got his first work at center this spring, as the center/quarterback handoff situation is still a major area for concern.
  • Incoming freshmen Nico Falah and Steven Mitchell attended practice, as did former Trojan standout offensive tackle Tony Boselli and Charles Davis. Three generations of Kiffins were also on the sidelines, with Monte, Lane, and Lane’s son, Knox all in attendance.
  • The Trojans resume spring camp on Thursday at 4 p.m. and will be open for the public to view from the deck of Dedeaux Stadium.
