Two days after de-committing from USC, four-star defensive end Jason Hatcher is back in the headlines, with the Trojans back in the mix, in addition to the Louisville Cardinals.
On Tuesday, Hatcher tweeted that his recruitment was wide open following his de-commitment from USC, though as seen in a screenshot that we took on Tuesday afternoon, he immediately tweeted back to a fan saying that he was committed to USC. His tweet proclaiming his de-commitment has been deleted.
That, combined with reports that Ed Orgeron would be making an in-home visit with Hatcher tonight, made for speculation that the defensive end was back with the Trojans. But, as Steve Jones of the Louisville Courier-Journal tweeted this afternoon, Hatcher has confirmed that he will wait until Signing Day to make his final decision.
Earlier, Jones tweeted that Hatcher will visit his hometown Louisville Cardinals this weekend, the same date he was initially set to officially visit the Florida Gators. High school teammate and four-star receiver James Quick is committed to Charlie Strong’s Cardinals.
Hatcher visited USC this past weekend along with a slew of other Trojan commits and targets is the 7th ranked defensive end per Rivals, and is ranked 221 in their final Rivals 250 rankings, which were released back on Tuesday.
The USC recruiting class currently stands at 13 commits, leaving four open spots remaining for Lane Kiffin before Signing Day on February 6. USC’s current targets include Quinton Powell, Matthew Thomas, A’Shawn Robinson, Eddie Vanderdoes and Kylie Fitts.
