The Trojans are just two days away from ending their year and season in El Paso against Georgia Tech in the Sun Bowl. While they were planning to do so with a completely healthy roster, running back Curtis McNeal and wide receiver Marqise Lee both have had lower body injury scares while practicing at SAC Stadium in eastern El Paso.
Both McNeal and Lee have been held out of practice and been seen limping by reporters, though due to Lane Kiffin’s strict injury reporting policy, the severity of the injuries remains unclear.
McNeal has missed the last two practices held in El Paso, while Lee suffered a lower body injury in Saturday morning’s practice and was removed after he ‘crumpled to the ground during a drill’, Rich Hammond reports.
The Biletnikoff Award winner was held out for the remainder of practice and was seen needing assistance on to the team bus via a handrail according to Gary Klein of the LA Times , though he exited and entered the bus again completely on his own power, without a limp.
Sophomore wide receiver George Farmer did participate in Saturday’s practice despite missing time this week with what Scott Wolf has called ‘possible concussion’.
Both McNeal and Lee by default could cautiously be considered as questionable, as Saturday’s practice was the Trojans’ last full practice before the game. The team will have a walk through at the Sun Bowl tomorrow on the UTEP campus.
