9. Anthony Brown’s blocked punt vs. Washington
Few successful plays probably have the overall significance to USC’s season than the block punt in the second quarter against Washington. Reserve cornerback Anthony Brown not only got his mitts on the punt off the foot of the Huskies’ Travis Coons, he scooped it up himself for the score. It wasn’t the prettiest blocked punt the college season, but it gave the Trojans seven big points to give them a 17-point halftime lead that they desperately needed in the second half.
